Wild Bandito is the cleanest data in PG Soft's catalogue on this site. No disputed maximum win, no configurable-build caveat, no name confusion. What is published is what the game appears to be.
That sounds like faint praise. Given that three of the studio's ten most-played titles here have maximum-win figures we decline to reproduce, it is not.
The numbers
RTP 96.73%. 1,024 ways on a fixed 5x4 grid. 25,000x maximum.
The 25,000x deserves a note. It is the same figure some sources attach to Mahjong Ways, where BigWinBoard's play-based review gives 2,893x instead. Here it appears without a competing figure, which is better but not proof. A 5x4 grid with 1,024 ways and an escalating multiplier is structurally capable of reaching five figures, so it is at least plausible — unlike some claims elsewhere in this catalogue.
The mechanic
Standard PG Soft cascade construction, executed well:
- Wins tumble away, replacements drop in, chains form
- Gold-framed symbols landing in a win transform into wilds after the tumble resolves
- An escalating multiplier climbs with each successive cascade in a chain
- Free spins run the multiplier ladder at higher values
If you have played Mahjong Ways 2 this will feel almost identical. The grid differs — 5x4 fixed with 1,024 ways here, against 4-5-5-5-4 with 2,000 ways there — but the engine is the same.
Why the grid matters more than it looks
1,024 ways versus 2,000 is roughly half the coverage per spin, on a game with an almost identical return. That means the same 96.73% is distributed across fewer simultaneous win paths, which pushes more of the value into the multiplier chains rather than into base-game frequency.
In practice: slightly fewer paying spins, slightly more value when a chain runs. The difference is real but modest — these are variations within one design philosophy, not different games.
The theme is doing real work
The spaghetti-western presentation is more distinctive than most of PG Soft's catalogue, which leans heavily on Chinese zodiac and Asian cultural motifs. That matters commercially — Wild Bandito reached audiences the Fortune series does not — but it changes nothing about the maths.
Who it suits
Someone who wants PG Soft's tumble-and-multiplier formula with data they can rely on. Among this studio's games, this is the one where the published figures are least likely to mislead you.
The 96.73% return is solid, the mechanic is well built, and the ceiling is at least structurally plausible. That is a better position than several better-known games in the same catalogue.
