On the 100,000x figure
Treasures of Aztec carries the same published maximum win as Mahjong Ways 2: 100,000x. It appears on PG Soft's own material and is copied by essentially every site that lists the game.
Secondary sources report materially lower achieved and certified caps for some builds of this game. The figure appears across several PG Soft titles at exactly 100,000x, which is itself a signal — genuine computed maxima from different games' maths do not land on the same round number.
Compare with how BGaming publishes: 8,202x, 4,684x, 2,077x, 12,960x. Those are computed figures. A catalogue where multiple unrelated games all cap at exactly 100,000x is publishing a policy limit, not a maths result.
We are not stating a maximum win for this game. Check the paytable in the build your operator runs.
The grid is the interesting part
6x5 with up to 32,400 ways, which is a large surface by any standard — thirty positions, and a ways count that expands well beyond the fixed 2,000 of Mahjong Ways 2.
Wins tumble away and replacements drop in, chaining from a single paid spin. Gold-plated symbols transform into wilds when they form part of a win, in the same way as the studio's other cascade games.
Multipliers apply during free spins.
The hit rate is the number to look at instead
Since the maximum win is unusable, the useful figure here is 29.07% — PG Soft's published hit rate, roughly one paying spin in three and a half.
That is high, and it is consistent with what a 6x5 grid running up to 32,400 ways should do. Wide grids with many ways produce frequent small wins almost by construction; the question is only whether those wins exceed the stake, and on a cascade game most individual links in a chain do not.
Read together, 96.71% return plus a 29% hit rate describes a game that pays often and pays small, with its value concentrated in the occasional long chain during free spins.
How this compares to Sweet Bonanza
Same grid dimensions, similar philosophy, different execution:
| Treasures of Aztec | Sweet Bonanza | |
|---|---|---|
| Grid | 6x5 | 6x5 |
| Pay system | Up to 32,400 ways | Pays anywhere, 8+ symbols |
| RTP | 96.71% | 96.51% |
| Multipliers | In free spins | 2x–100x bombs, additive |
| Max win | Not stated (see above) | 21,175x |
The key structural difference: Sweet Bonanza uses additive multiplier symbols that must land, while Treasures of Aztec's multipliers are applied to the round. And Pragmatic Play publishes a specific computed maximum, which PG Soft does not.
Optional bonus access
A feature-buy option is available where jurisdiction permits. The UK prohibits bonus buys outright; several other regulated markets restrict them.
The usual arithmetic applies — a purchase does not improve expected return, it accelerates the resolution of your bankroll.
Who it suits
Someone who wants a wide-grid cascade game with a high hit rate and does not need a verifiable ceiling to enjoy it. The 96.71% return and 29% hit rate together describe a genuinely playable, active game.
It does not suit anyone making a decision based on maximum win, because for this game that number cannot currently be trusted.
